Advent Day 2

Today's activity was "Drink hot cocoa and stir with a candy cane!"  The kids LOVED this little twist on an already rare treat.  Well, Ryan just had "warm" cocoa in a sippy *lol*

Also, today I am 16 weeks pregnant.  YAY!!  Morning sickness is stil here, but not as full force, so hopefully we are nearing the end of that nonsense!

Advent Day 1

This year we are doing something a little different around here :)  I had a goal for December (Advent) to be all about spending time together as a family and keep the focus on Jesus and all God has blessed us with.  So I set a goal to be DONE with Christmas shopping by Thanksgiving...and I was!  I finshed the day before.  YAY!

So yesterday we started our new "tradition".  After dinner Jessica opened the "1" door on our advent calendar and read what was on the slip of paper.  "Paint everyones toenails (and fingernails if wanted!) with Christmas colors!"  So the kids all lined up on the couch, I took the red, Daddy took the green and we painted away!  The kids had a blast and it was really fun :)

'Tis the Season...

to be SHOPPING!  But, I am nearly DONE!  Yay!  I have a couple of little things to order from Amazon and some $3 and $5 gifts for our family adult exchanges and I'm done!!!!  YAY!!!!

The reason I am so excited is I have some really fun activities planned for Advent this year.  I am going to try hard to take pics and post resources, etc. of all that we do, as well as my thoughts on wether or not I'll do them next year.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

I'm sure you miss me :)

Well, my good friends know where I've been :)

I'll let you in...I've been chained to my couch....

dealing with morning sickness!  We are happily (suprised, but happily!) expecting blessing #4 to arrive this May.  I am currently 13 weeks and morning sickness (well, evening sickness, really) has started to subside.  So I hope to be back in the swing of things after being pretty much worthless for the past 7 weeks.  Baby Bean looks great, healthy and strong, praise God!

I hope to get back to preschool and share what we are doing around here to celebrate the birth of Christ!

Apple Week continues!

Yesterday we took a trip to the apple orchard / cider mill.  It was really fun!  Not a cheap place to get apples, but the experience was well worth it :)

Apple Week!

This week we are doing an apple theme in Preschool.  today we had apples for a snack, played our apple sorting file folder game, and attempetd a Apple Tree finger play, but Linds thought I was nuts, so maybe we'll try that tomorrow.  We also practiced the ASL sign for "a" and the sound "a" makes.  For an art project, I had her paint a paper lunch bag red and let it dry.  When it was dry, we stuffed it with newspapers, taped it closed, and tied a piece of yarn with some leaves attached around the top.  It turned out really cute.

ASL

Lindsey loves the Signing Times videos.  We get at least one from the library when we go.  Yesterday, she starting using signs in place of words...which would be great...IF THEY WERE REAL SIGNS.  She just wiggles her fingers around and says random letters (the most recent was an ABC signing video) and then looks at me like I should understand.
